Wow! Isn't this great!? I can't believe it...my very own comics page!!! I cheated by using old pictures here, but I'll generate some new ones in the weeks ahead. I'm deleriously happy! Oh...be sure to click to enlarge.
Eddie! The Fitzgerald Funnies are going to be so much fun! Looking forward to reading them. Oh, here's something every animator should see. It begs the question: Is it really stealing if you steal from yourself? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL6FYxIuJlA
I love your facials! You seem to be conscious of your face and body expression just as well as if you had been drawing them. Real goofy. You're the perfect caricature subject. Especially like the last panel and the hard thinking expression. And the first one. And the sneeze. And, of course, the last one I haven't mentioned.
This is great! It reminds me of the old "Foto Funnies" that used to appear in the National Lampoon. (that's a compliment, I used to love the Foto Funnies in NatLamp.)
type "comic name" + torrent and you can download any comic you can think of in a minute. You can preface your article with "I spun by the local comics shop". I'd also like to hear your thoughts on Jimmy Corrigan.
I think there's something to be said for comic book readers ruining comic book movies for everyone else. They complained for years that the movie wasn't enough like the comic ( pick any comic book movie before 'Sin City' ) and they ended up ruining things like 'Watchmen' and '300'.
300 was God awful and everyone loved it. Shame on you, World.
I love the new comics program, Eddie! I am certain we're gonna see some really funny and inventive photo essays from you in future ( not that we haven't already, but you know.... )!
300 was a cool damn trailer. When I saw that trailer in the theatre I was amazed and couldn't WAIT to see it.
Then I sat through it and couldn't have been more bored. The comic book nerds' insistance that everything that happened in the comic happen in the movie ruined the movie.
Why? Because the comic was made up of several issues, and although a multi-issue storyline has continuations, it still maintains story structure. There's a begining, characters introduced, three acts, each with a glory moment and a denoument.
The reason this ruined the story in 300 is because they were having all these multiple acts and stories within stories and glory moments every twenty minutes because everything HAD to be in the movie that happened in the damn books.
You can't have everything in the book be in the movie because they're two different mediums, both designed differently. What makes a good book might not make a good movie.
300 was crap, crap, and crap. Horrid acting, horrid, obnoxious, directing and even the fight sequences sucked. C'mon you'd think a film like that would have delivered with the action but it was all slow-mo and CGI blood. Zack Snyder is one the worst directors working today.
I liked Watchmen when I first saw it but now, blech.
Man, what's going on up there!
ReplyDeleteAre you using Comic Life?

That is really slick! It'll put a new spin on your photo essays.
ReplyDeleteWhat program are you using to create the comics? Does it save you a lot of time?
Now that you're creating some comics, have you thought of publishing the comics on Scribd?
This program is going to take you to a whole new level. I can't wait to see where you go with this.

ReplyDeleteYou could write the next Watchmen with this thing!
ReplyDeleteHave you read it, Eddie? I liked it, but I didn't like the part where they compared DC comics and EC comics.
Nifty!
ReplyDeleteJulian: Yes, Comic Life! It's not as easy to use as I first thought but it's still the most user friendly program I've ever used.
ReplyDeleteCraig: Fascinating! Disney stealing from themselves!
Jennifer: I never heard of Scribd before you mentioned it. I bookmarked it and will go back to see what's there. Thanks for the tip!
Jorge: Never read it, but everybody talks about it and I'm kind of curious about it.
Sean, Vince, John A, Josh, Niki: Thanks!!!

Neat. Looking forward to more comics.
ReplyDeleteTo quote P.J. O'Rourke: "It's like handing whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."
ReplyDeleteYou GO, Eddie!
I strongly support this!
ReplyDeleteyoure right Trevor, theres a lot of pop culture I like that has been ruined by obsessive fanboy culture. Star Wars etc.
ReplyDelete300 was a cool damn movie.
ReplyDeleteEddie with a new imaging technology! Look out, world!
ReplyDeleteTotally off topic, but I had to share with a fellow Kovacs fan

Frank Miller is a parody of himself
ReplyDelete300 was a beautiful movie about the romanticism of warfare. It was operatic.
