PICTURES BY CHLOE CUMMING

Boy, some interesting people comment here! I was curious to see what British commenter Chloe Cumming's blog was like so I went there and was amazed to find these! Not too shabby, I would say!

Here (above) is a page from her sketchbook. I love to look at artists' sketchbooks, especially when they're as interesting as this. The swatches of color on the top just burn out of the page! How did she do that?
Here's (above) a glimpse at Chloe's workspace. Isn't that a beautiful table?

  1. Yes, she's certainly an ethereally exceptional draughtsman and I love her table, too. ; )

Yeah yeah yeah! The feeling of dimensionality on those muscle-men sketches is wonderful!

  3. How amazing.

You can see, especially in the third pic (the one with the swatches), that she really puts a lot of thought in what she's trying to accomplish. She's not just "sketching" - she's commentating on what she's doing, and she's experimenting with lines and colors.

    Fantastic, Chloe!

  5. I'm chloe's biggest fan! not only is her work really fun to look at, and well drawn, but she's really stunning herself, and she lives in an english hilly countryside happily only to work for herself, which I find wonderful and romantic.

I love talking to her too, she has interesting opinions and views.

    Horay for chloe!

  7. I always enjoy reading Chloe's beautifully worded comments.

Her paintings are amazing as well - but what's even more fascinating is watching them develop and reading the many thoughts and decisions and influences that go into her pieces of art.

I'm glad we have Chloe here in Blogtown!

  10. Oh Gosh I only just saw this! I'm overcome! Thank you Eddie!

I'm blushing profusely, I might come back later and say something less stupid. Sorry to miss the boat a bit, my computer has senile dementia and I'm waiting on a new one to take me in its youthful manly arms and let me blog again.

  12. Holy smokes, I missed this first time around, too.

Uncle Eddie, how right you are: Chloe's work is very special indeed. My fandom runs so deep I treated myself to an original.

It is fascinating to see another artist's process. Makes me wish I had one myself.

    Go Chloe!
