UNCLE EDDIE LIVE ON RADIO TONIGHT!

Don't go out of your way for this, because it's just fooling around. Nothing rehearsed or figured out. We'll be talking about old-time radio and acting out some stuff for an hour. It's on a local (Los Angeles) college radio station, KXLU (88.9), at 7 o'clock tonight (Wednesday). You can also hear it live, online:

Isn't KWLU the Loyola Marymount station? They are cool but sometimes notorious for not going on air at the designated hour.

  2. That looks like John Barrymore, Rudy Vallee and Orson Welles in the snapshot. Cool!

Have fun on the radio tonite, Eddie. Is John going on with you?

Mmmm...fried spam. Seriously, to the Kliban guy, stop spamming Eddie's blog. You said you'd stop in the last post. Don't spoil it for the rest of us.

To Eddie, that sounds interesting. Have a good time at that radio station.

Here's an annoying combo: A hypocrite/spammer/heckler who appears to be an obsessive a "fan" of Kliban, yet he thinks cartoons are for babies. It's about time that Eddie enables comment moderation.

To the anon, why not get a blog and post your own works (and even a post on Kliban, like Crsp said)?

Say, Uncle Eddie...what sort of old-timey radio stuff are you gonna do tonight? Comedies, like FIBBER MCGEE & MOLLY, or adventure stuff like THE LONE RANGER or maybe even THE SHADOW?

Oh and is that 7pm California time?(I live in the Eastern time zone, so that'd be 10pm my time.)

    Good luck, man!

I doubt that you're really John Currin (his paintings look well-done), Kliban guy, since you posted all this spam. You know that Eddie is not going to be happy when he sees what you've done.

  15. Eddie--please enable the moderation feature. I promise you it won't be difficult to do(it's literally clicking one box) and it won't make the comments/disussions less accessible or interesting.

99% of the comments here are from already registered bloggers anyway; it's not as though you'd be censoring a lot of worthy anonymous people by doing so.

Please. Do it tonight. And good luck with the show or as the french say, "merde!". : )

if you were the real kliban youd know that Kliban and Larson were friends and KLiban was going to write the forward to one of the far side collections before he died

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous6:32 PM

you really dont need to enable moderation, just write a paragraph about kliban and what you think of the far side and ill never post here ever again

Here's why Uncle Eddie hasn't done a post on Kliban. : I love Kliban but I don't have too many examples of his work. Why don't you do a post about him and if it's good I'll link to it! Maybe you took the time to do a post about him, maybe then he'll give his opinion about Kliban, but it's probably too late.

youve shown incredible patient and restraint btw eddie, class act all the way.

PLEASE JUST PLEASE GIVE ME A SHORT OPINION ON KLIBAN/LARSON AND ILL LEAVE AND NEVER COEM BACK

Surprised you havent figured out who i am yet
its an absessive compulsive thing, ever since you said you might post about Kliban my brain has needed closure on that and i need you to give a short comment on kliban so my brain will leave me alone

Calm down, anon. I'm surprised that you're making a big obsession over this. You just said that you were John Currin. I'm not convinced. Tell us who you really are.

Just one last note to Eddie and others:

The guy with a hard on for Kliban wont stop when or if you did post a paragraph on Kli-boring anyway, so don't fall for his blackmailing tactics. Like he suggests about Kliban, Anon also has no honor so don't bother with his demands. He has proven his own lack of honor and integrity long ago. Perhaps this is his homage to Kliban by acting out exactly the same way he accuses Kliban of being.

To all others: The Kliban fanatic is thriving off any attention given to him in true typical internet troll behavior. So don't bother trying to negotiate or even acknowledge him anymore. Trolls like him go away after they are ignored. He, no doubt, does this in other internet chat rooms and most likely in daily life in the real world as well, where he is equally ignored and insignificant to all others. Let him babble himself into isolation and humiliation until his cyber world mirrors his real world.

Sorry I couldnt catch the radio show, Eddie. Will it be somewhere to download or watch again later?

hahahah im done, hilarious reactions guys, Im sure KLiban wouldve trolled if he had the net, many great comics do such as chris morris whos act im actually stealing (although he went on and on about chaplin)

its been swell, Im through posting here since youre finally getting wise, please delete all my posts and get back to your excellent blog eddie I swear i shall bother you no more. no need to bother with a kliban post either i picked him at random and dont care either way

  25. What the hell is wrong with this picture? Trolls on the Theory Corner? Where are we? Jesus, Eddie leaves for one day and this happens.

WELLLL I'm listening to it now and this is some god damned fantastic radio, Eddie. It makes me have fun to listen to other people having fun. Do more!

    great show btw

  27. I listened to you and Kali for the last few minutes of your Superman program (unfortunately). I was at work unfortunately and wasn't able to listen to the whole thing. But from what I heard, Kali sure giggled a lot like she did on the Popeye commentaries dvd and you two seemed to have had a ball re-enacting an old Superman radio show. I wish I was able to listen to the whole thing as listening to two folks of seperate generations having fun is something you don't hear everyday and is fun to just to listen too just for the heck of it.

I wish all of us cartoonists can forget all our troubles for once and just hang out and have fun like You and Kali. :)

  28. Eddie, you moderated the comments n' all, but I still see the Kliban guys' post. Are you playing a joke on us man? :)

    Sean:

Eddie hasnt activated moderation yet... and dont mention or acknowledge the spammer. ur just egging him on and fueling the attention he craves. Read "Jane Says" post. shes right. dont feed the trolls. they go away when ignored and the need for moderation becomes obsolete.

    Eddie, Kali
I loved what I heard of the show! Is it possible to download an mp3 version?

The fun you guys seemed to be having is completely contagious...

I think that it's impossible to NOT enjoy that type of thing! That's part of what's so great about your Audio Commentaries.

It's so nice to see someone actually enjoy life once and awhile!

    Please do more Radio!

  38. Trevour: If you work at a college radio station you're in a great position to do something really significant. Don't just put on music, put on live theater!

    How To: Thanks!

Will: If I'm not mistaken that's Barrymore, Valee and Welles.
