PETER COOK

If you haven't seen Peter Cook then I'm envious. That means you'll be seeing him here for the first time. I only wish I could turn the clock back and see all this for the first time! Enjoy!

A comic genius, no two ways about it. So sad that both he and Dudley Moore are gone now.

Anyone who hasn't seen their 1967 film "Bedazzled" can catch it on DVD in April...

i wish i knew more of peter cook than his funny cameo in Princess Bride, he seems(-ed?) like a brilliant comic actor.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Not Only...But Also was a really funny sketch show. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore were fantastic. (I didn't care for Bedazzled, though.) I had a crush on both of them at one time...

Another funny Peter Cook role was his role as Richard III in Blackadder. He was pretty subtle in the role compared to the other players.

"Bedazzled," winner in the category, best Faust not written by Goethe.

Memorable line: "You broke my grebe!"

Steve: Nightmarish videos! Now I'm scared to get old! What if I'm sitting there in the old folks' home, knitting and minding my own business, and a bunch of clowns come in the door? I'd have to shoot them then I'd go to jail and have to live with a bunch of convicts and rappers.

My favourite comedian Peter Cook!!!

Shame the beeb wiped most of not only but also. I'll never get over it.

One of my favourite sketches is bloody greta garbo. The 'pete and dud' stuff is all amazing. Check him out in character(s) on the clive anderson show. You should find it on youtube.

John Cleese and all the other pythons worshipped him, he probably wouldve been a python if he didnt have his own show

I had a big crush on Peter Cook too--so much talent and Wildean style.
I was lucky enough to see him onstage in "Good Evening" with Dudley Cook when I was a kid.

"Tragically, I was an Only Twin: The Complete Peter Cook" edited by William Cook (not related) ISBN 031231891X , is a book that transcribes as much as possible of Cooks work. It is a great resource to have around, if you cannot get your hands on audio of video-- there is a lot of his various writing for newspaper and magazines included as well.

Looked for some Derek and Clive today, only thing I can find on CD now is a posthumous collection of his prank calls to radio call in shows, among other things. Which sadly, might remind someone of, or expose someone too, how bad his drinking problem may really have been.

Peter Cook actually invented David Frosts career, if you are aware how Frost fits in to the Brit Com family tree.
