Bill Wray put up these two paintings (above and below) on his blog: http://madaboutcartoons.blogspot.com/
The top picture looks like it's from the Ren & Stimpy episode, "Visit to Anthony."
Just to fill out the post how about these black and white pictures from Sam Hiti's site: http://www.samhiti.com/?page=artwork

The top picture is my dad.
Oh..and what a great painting!
Geepers, I was just introducing my daughter to that episode this morning.
Wow! That's an amazingly accurate parody of The Great Piggy Bank Robbery!
That is a great painting of John's dad. What does Bill Wray have in common with the other artist you posted- or is was it entirely arbitrary?
Jorge stole my thought. Isn't that a beautiful take on the Great Piggy Bank Robbery?
Those of you still in contact with Bill Wray... is the disconnect between Bill and William really that strong? That is, is Bill really that down on his commercial work, in his effort to become a fine artist? Or is the denial more of a practical matter? Or even a bit tongue in cheek.
Tim Biskup doesn't seem to be in such separation from his cartoon past, but his Gallery work doesn't look as different from his cartoon work as Bill's does from "William's".
I'm with Kali. Why exactly did you drop Sam Hiti's work in the same post? Besides it just looking nice, which may have been your reasoning.
If you dig a bit on Sams site, you do see a bit of an animation pedigree there as well.
Did Carl Barks ever sell straight ahead western landscapes, to people who did not know his duck work?
Great stuff man great stuff. :) I especially love the painting of John's Dad :D
Jesus--John's [cartoon] dad looks like the offspring of John Wayne and Raymond Burr!
He must be a large man, alright.
Neat painting.
Anon: It is a strange combination, I admit.
I haven't seen Chris's comics work but he's done interior illustrations for kids fantasy books like Lemony Snicket and I'll bet they're good. He reminds me of the artist who used to do Ray Bradbury's covers.
The croc painting is exceptional too---I never would have thought to use pink and green that way, but it looks perfectly natural.
"Did Carl Barks ever sell straight ahead western landscapes, to people who did not know his duck work ?"
Yes he did - but not much. Some examples here : http://www.seriesam.com/barks/art_ndp.html
However I think he was a better comics artist.
The Same Hiti's drawings are fine, there's a great Christian Blutch feeling in it
