MY FINAL HALLOWEEN POST!
Holy Cow! It's almost Halloween! This'll probably be my last post for that holiday, so I'll try to make it interesting.
Here (above) Lon Chaney enters the Opera Ball as the Red Death.
Here's (above) some plague victims unearthed in Italy.
I always thought the costumes plague doctors wore (above) would make good Halloween costumes.
Speaking of the Plague, what do you think of this giant rat attempting to eat the passengers in this car?
The Stepford Puppets (above)!
What the heck is the "Jeckle & Hyde Club?"
The Yale Skull and Bones Society. Not even most people who go to Yale know what goes on in there!
The funeral of Siegfried (above).
A strange drawing I got off the net (above) showing jagged peaks on the Moon. Its not a great sketch but I kinda like it, because it assumes weird and menacing shapes are present on another world, and every day are defiantly but impotently threatening the Earth.
I wish I'd been able to find a good picture of a haunted house ride. This one's so infuriatingly happy!
Let's shake off all that happiness and check out this item from The Amsterdam Museum of Torture. It's a head vice. Good Lord!
The famous Iron Maiden of Nuremberg (above)!
Someone went to a lot of trouble to build this chair of spikes.
Here's (above) a less elaborate version of the same thing. It's still plenty scary when you consider what the weights on the floor must have been used for.
A bust (above) of Rondo Hatten.
Don't you love the masks (above) kids make?
Only the previous day the homeowner of this yard was seen mowing his lawn. Now all that remains of him is one shoe and the abandoned mower. Strange icons have appeared.
An interesting rubber mask (above)! Great color!
If you're planning to be a mad scientist, you'll need a study (above) as well as a lab. How about something like this? Is this set from "Metropolis"?
I like costumes that elongate the character (above).
Some trolls (above) from Steve Worth's ASIFA blog on Bauer.
A New Orleans-inspired voodoo mask.
Ah, gargoyles! I don't know why they appear on cathedrals but I'm glad they do.
Some modern-day churches (above)make use of gargoyles too! It's a tradition!
Well, that wraps it up! Have a good Halloween everybody!!!!!
BTW, some of the pictures used here were stolen from Karswell's superb horror blog:

...and from Fournier's wonderful Frankenstein blog:

The New Orleans-inspired voodoo mask, is the spirit of jazz from a british sitcom called the mighty boosh, its a really random show, but i like it a lot, i foud the episode in here, if you are interested in watching it: :) http://www.veoh.com/videos/v41485503fD32rMr
Awesome post. By the way, Gargoyles are ment to scare off whatever FORCES of EVIL (Bump-bump BAA) that are attacking the church, cathedral, tabernacle or what have you. Same idea as Tiki statues I suppose.
Happy Halloween Uncle Edward...If you are ever here in Philadelphia, you would probably enjoy the Mutter Museum
A Museum of medical oddities.
"I wish I'd been able to find a good picture of a haunted house ride. This one's so infuriatingly happy!"
That place looks like Dante's Inferno for saturated colors!
Inside the Skull and Bones building is a giant kitchen where they bake the sweetest muffins and cookies for only the nicest girls and boys.
Isn't that picture of the Earth as seen from the moon one done by a Jewish teenager who later died in a concentration camp? If it is, then it's the most horrifying one of the lot.
The Jekyll and Hyde Club is a strange clip-joint in midtown, (Manhattan) an area which, with the exception of the ever Disnified Broadway, it is unusual to find a tacky theme-restaurant.
Bauer looks like a spitting image of Tenggren!
Eddie, I read a quote from Bakshi saying you are one of the finest cartoonists he's ever worked with...! It would be nice to see some drawings, damnit!
Fliescher's classic Betty Boop Snow White is a great Halloween view!
Thanks!
Pat: I've seen the Mutter Museum! Incredible!
Buzz: Very sad if it's true.
Rudy: I'll draw some stuff for the blog, don't worry.
Bent: I still haven't gotten around to checking out the link, but I will, I promise!
Dave: A defense against evil? Sound useful!
The people commenting that theyll take Chuck Jones subtle eyebrow raises over Mckimsons base lowbrow gestures...blah blah blah are why I avoid reading the comments in John Ks blog
I love Woody Allen, but theyre the same sort of guys who have blogs with titles like "musings on cinema" that deconstruct Woody Allen movies and point out allusions to Bergman and Fellini in an attempt to show the ladies how eclectic and cultured they are
"The people commenting that theyll take Chuck Jones subtle eyebrow raises over Mckimsons base lowbrow gestures...blah blah blah are why I avoid reading the comments in John Ks blog"
But you're perfectly happy to drag those comments over here to make a completely non sequitur post about those comments on Eddie's topic that has nothing to do with it ?
Ok...
Im interested in eddies take and John K doesnt allow anonymous comments, I have aspergers Ill steer the conversation however the fuck i want

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Another stupid fat 15-year old internet cretin who's pretending to have Asperger's, but has never even met someone with autism in his life.
Asperger's and Autism is diagnosed very early on in life. I should know, I have a 2-year old cousin with autism. She has a lot of trouble doing basic things. To try to take that hardship of someone who has a real child with a real mental disability and use it to garner sympathy for yourself ON THE INTERNET is unforgivable.
He sits at home and feels sorry for himself and is angry and everything, especially the rest of the world for not realizing he has Asperger's Syndrome!
Grow up and learn to spell.
The "Jeckle & Hyde Club" show is in the west Village. It was part of a small chain, but this is all that's left in NY.
It's a theme-park type place that features waiters dressed as vampires and ghouls. The food is expensive, and I heard it isn't very good. (I haven't been there.) However, since it's all burgers and pub food, how bad can it be?
Though I walk by this place almost daily, I actually thought it had gone out of business. Nope, still there. However, the place under construction next door, is now a pet shop selling wierd animals. That's scary.
...please where can I buy a unicorn?
