EMO VALENTINE CARDS

I can't believe I'm putting up a blog post only hours after I put up the previous one. I only just realized that Valentine's Day is coming up! Good Grief!

I'll post again on Monday morning!

Above, a poster for last year's Valentine's Ball. It's out of date, but I like the way it looks.

Above, a poster for THIS year's ball!

I don't want to sound mean or anything, but anything emo is crap.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

All hail the Photoshop Almighty. I'll cut my veins and chew them in front of a random boy who'll play as my boyfriend.

Best Valentine evah!

Steven: That one with the girl and the giant red hair ribbon was good. And I'm surprised that you didn't like the green girl, and the phony MacDonald's ad. I'd always rather see a card that was drawn and painted, but there's the odd Photoshop card that's kind of clever.

in a comment to "An Homage to Stage Mothers" Anonymus writes:

"A friend showed me LITTLE BRITAIN one weekend (funny stuff, but a penpal in England said she doesn't like the show at all - simply lewd and perhaps Americanized humour was her theory). The couple above includes Walliams (left) and as a woman Matt Lucas -elsewhere on your blog I think. they portray a lot of lady characters. Lucas had a voice in the Burton "retelling" of Alice In Wonderland; Walliams had a very small cameo in a Simon Pegg film 1 1/2 years ago. SB"

Looking forward to whatever you post on Monday but Eddie, I just saw 'True Grit'

I was going to see it by your recommendation when a friend of mine asked to go see it. It was really good! I was actually wondering what was going to happen, because there was an actual danger of the characters dying, rather then just a typical Hollywood story where you know they'll be o.k.

You're theory was spot on, the girl was strong and was able to stand up to rough, hard men who would have no problem shooting her. Good times! Have you seen it yet??

This post reminds me, I need to go to the butcher shop. Thanks, Eddie!

Tom Fennell, son of Paul Fennell, just wrote this comment on the post where I told the story about Paul punching me in the nose.

Paul Fennell was a Lieutenant Colonel in the marines, amateur boxer when he was younger, and a larger than life father who never walked away from a fight (even when he started it). I know your pain but to be honest he truly was a great father, put bread on the table, and was one of the most interesting, enigmatic (is that a word?) and loving fathers on the planet (or at least around the house. I miss him - and he only laid a hand on me once - when I wouldn't put a button in an envelope for the cleaners. It came out of nowhere but he pulled it. After a couple of heart attacks, and a "punk" son who disagreed with the whole world and especially with him on just about everything, I give him credit. I love these stories - and they just keep coming. PS: Try to go easier on the name calling - but thats ok if you can't. Tom Fennell.

Tom: Thanks much for the comment! Paul really did do the things I talked about in the post, but I still respect him, and regard him with affection. I don't doubt that he was a good father.

I reread the post but couldn't find any name calling. Maybe you're thinking of something someone else wrote in a comment.

Scrwney: Yeah, I saw it! I loved it!
