YOUNG WOMEN VS. OLDER WOMEN

Younger women have obvious assets, you don't need me to point them out. Older women have assets too, but they don't get discussed very often. I thought I'd take a minute to examine what those assets are.

Let's face it, young girls haven't seen much of life. They don't have...depth. They lack....

...they lack "gravitas."

They're always lost, always spilling things, always tripping over curbs, always getting their fingers caught in drawers.

Older women (abvove) on the other hand, are confident and worldly. They see life from the lofty heights, from the eagles' point of view.

Not only that, but older women get the joke. They're more hip....more with it.

Younger women are always playing hard to get. How wearisome!

Older women know the score. They're not afraid to take the initiative.

Younger women are only attracted to men with animal magnetism. A few chick magnets (above) get all the girls.

Older women (above) have no need of chick magnets. They're tickled to death to live with normal men. They don't care if their husbands leave their BVDs on the sofa.

Now, I admit that not all older women (above) have gravitas.

I also admit that some older women take...well, a bit of getting used to. Give me time. I'm stll working on that.

One more thing! You MUST see this video Steve Worth showed me last night! Watch the whole thing, from beginning to end. It lasts about 40 minutes.

Eddie, the UK Kitchen Nightmares is infinitely better than the US version, but I've grown to really like the US version too. Sure, the drama is overexaggerated (in the US one) and Gordon is more of a jerk in that version of the show, but it can be still be highly addicting television. UK version actually teaches people about how the restaurant business work and the drama and heated moments are like icing on the cake. I did not know Steve Worth actually cared for the show.

The Burger Kitchen episode is my favorite from the US version and the UK ones where Gordon goes to Bonapartes and Momma Cherris's Soul Food Shack are my favorites. You can also find them on YouTube I think. It's always great to watch Gordon get super angry though whether it's in Boiling Point or even a more serious documentary like "Shark Bait."

I have my own theory about younger women, influenced by listening to months of The Tom Leykis Show, online. A lot of them dig guys who actually have loads of money. That's why you sometimes see super young chicks (19-22 usually) marry men much older them themselves, like in their late 30s or 40s. If the guy is a high paying doctor, than that's a huge positive there.

Some girls date even older than that! I think older women, particularly the "cougars" and the "MILFS" are perfectly happy to date much younger guys much the same way. They are desperate for sex and guys that aren't going to age easily.

This scene from Breaking Bad is pure genius by the way. I haven't gotten to this particular episode, since I'm finishing up Season 3 as we speak, but am on the tenth episode or so. Can't wait to get to season 5.

Oh, that video! I read about that - talk about living in a dream world! It's scary that there are people like that out there that are so delusional. Even worse, those two pieces of work went on social media and insulted their critics.

I have my own business (selling hand-crafted jewelry and getting ready to set up a consignment shop) in addition to the work that I do (software development manager for the gov't), and I can't imagine staying in business if I practiced the same customer service skills that these two practice.

I have two theories as to why they're still in business - 1) They have unlimited resources and they can afford to run this business as a tax loss, or 2) This business is a front for some other colorful activity that may borderline on being illegal.

This is the most epic episode of the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares, IMHO. It's the one where he tries to fix up The Runaway Girl and The Dovecote Bistro. You won't regret watching this at all. He tries to help two of the most stubborn restaurant owners ever here in the midst of the recession.

You didn't watch the video Eddie linked Roberto. Go look at it and you'll see why he likes it.

What about Ginger Rogers? As far as I'm concerned, you can't play more hard to get than that. Poor Fred does his best every time and she's always rejecting him for no reason.

Okay Steve and Eddie. I've actually watched the whole video and I couldn't believe that was all real. Gordon just walked out on one of the most dysfunctional TV couples I have ever watched. The husband looks old enough to be Amy's grandpa! They are completely delusional and oblivious to any constructive criticism. Two utter failures of human beings and worse than the idiots who ran The Burger Kitchen!

I haven't watched much of the new season of Kitchen Nightmares yet, but I will definitely start now because of this!

Kurt: Sorry to have repositioned the post you commented on. That was a two year old post that I accidentally moved up to the present. I just moved it to a new spot in the beginning of this month.

Anyway, what you said about not getting angry at work is true.

Roberto: Thanks for the "Bad" link and the picks of the best of the UK show. I'll get back to you about them after I see them.

Jennifer: If that restaurant was local I'd go once in a while just for the floor show. I hear they're a popular spot now.

Louis: Haw! Poor Fred!

You should see some of the comments I left on this post not too long ago. What do you think about this "trend" of tiny dot pupil eyes and noodle arms? I'm pretty sure if this show had some strong characters, good storytelling, they might be able to make up for the lack of appealing design, but I don't really see this cartoon lasting long.

I also usually don't post on Cartoon Brew, but I just had to say a lot of the stuff that we have both been probably thinking.

"Sanjay and Craig" seems to hark back to Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Interesting about younger and older women, for sure: I see same characteristics in young/old women visiting our museum. Also seems young/old men share those traits.

Eddie, what do you think of Pixar PLANES? IMHO nice visuals, lighting, physics, compositions. But Pixar current animation IMHO's late Chuck Jones: the heldpose-jumpto-heldpose-jumpto-heldpose style. Works great for the Millenials I tested games with (many of them actually dislike full animation!!).

A tad vulgar but I think in many ways the older/younger women thing comes down to ego for many men. If you can have relations.... with a cute 20 year old thing you're a stud but a gorgeous fit and worldly 40 year old women you are somehow "settling." Again vulgar and I apologize but browse the "most viewed" section of any "porntube" site and the majority of the "all time favorited" vids will involve older women, granted some of them are incest related and that's a whole other post involving freud and....etc. but as you wrote much of the attraction comes from the "gravitas" and worldliness older women possess, which has been largely marginalized by our societies obsession with youth.

I'm curious if this has always been the case, much as "reubenesque" women were the height of sexual desirability for hundreds of years how much our natural instincts have been twisted by marketing. This is EXTREMELY nsfw, but there was a movie made by Larry Clarke where an attractive 19 year old male was offered the chance to make a porn film with an actress from a lineup of porn stars who he interviewed one on one, in the end he chose the older woman http://xhamster.com/movies/1496433/jasmine_byrne_and_nancy_vee_destricted.html While an older woman provided she takes good care of herself can have an extreme degree of sexual freedom I wonder about older mens portrayal in the media, at least in America, besides George Clooney and don Draper and the hipster ladies who would sleep with Bill Murray in a heartbeat most teenage girls see Justin Bieber as a sexual idol, either him or androgynous leaders of pop punk bands, I doubt hardly any without father issues would find 1970's bert reynolds to be attractive, this isn't a lament on the decline of "manliness" and the rise of the metrosexual, just observations, which might not really carry over into women in other countries. I'm a reasonably young dude who increasingly finds myself searching for Danni Ashe and Nina Hartley vids, while "barely legal" 18 year olds still hold great attraction, the fact that the sophisticated "older man" archetype has largely disappeared from advertising and media pisses my current (VERY VERY 3 pints of vodka DRUNK) self off as well as future me
