I'll start with a Neverland map that I assume was sold at Disneyland soon after it opened. It's not all that useful as a map but it's cheery and would look good on a wall.
Here's (above) another take on Neverland. I love this poster. Black and white enhances the effect.
Above, a gangster map of Chicago.
Above, a detail.
Above, still more details.
This (above) isn't really a map. It's done by an artist who paints on maps.
Here's (above) a map showing the progress of the Pequod as it hunted Moby Dick.
I read that the octopus (above) appears on more maps than mermaids and narwhales.
Above, Mussolini as a grasping octopus...or is it? In a comment Sir Pogalot says it's Churchill.
Here's (above) the world without water, committed to paper in 1690.

What, no BEANY & CECIL ("No Bikini Atoll") or Three Stooges ("Cant Sea", "Giva Dam") maps?
What are you, a communist?
Very cool, Eddie, especially the Disney one. Right now the maps I've been obsessing over have been the maps of Barsoom from Edgar Rice's Burrough's John Carter Of Mars series, and the maps of George RR Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire/Game Of Thrones series. Ever got onto either of those, Eddie?

Right now there's a theory that the Game Of Thrones series takes place on Saturn's moon Titan, which has a 30 year seasonal cycle. The similarities between the lands in these maps is fascinating:

I've also been digging these cool maps 4chan made of the USA and the world after "The Happening":

Mussolini....isnt that Churchill?
Mike, don't forget The Mad Isle Of Mad-Hattan, Beanyland, and Wildsville/Hungry I-land.!
Mike: Haw!
Jorge: Sword and sorcery isn't my thing, though I like some of the Peter Jackson films. I'll rent Game of Thrones and see what happens.
I'm not a fan of fantasy or sword & sorcery at all either, Eddie, and I couldn't stand any of the Peter Jackson series either. But Game Of Thrones/A Song Of Ice And Fire is great. I think you'd like it, Eddie, there are great elements of romanticism in the series as well as gritty realism. I'd give it at least 4 episodes to see if you like or or not if I was you, Eddie. The 4th ep is great.
I was thinking earlier this week that I'd love to own an globe of Edgar Rice Burrough's mars. I think with the rise of 3D printing we'll have more cool novelty items like that from everyone's favourite fictional lands. If I had a 3D printer or access to one I'd design it myself, and make it topographically accurate to the books. It'd make a great momento and would probably sell.
