MY TASTE IN NEKKIDS

WARNING: NON-PORNOGRAPHIC NUDES BELOW!

******

******

Here's (above) my all-time favorite nude photograph, taken by Weston. It's probably influenced by Matisse. It's indisputably a terrific work of art but... that's not what this is about. This is about what John K calls "nakeds", steamy pictures that are meant to be a turn-on.

I'm not turned on by dominatrices and cold, inhuman model types. I like real girls, the way they really look. There aren't many sites with pictures like that but here's three. See what you think.

The first is "Suicide Girls." Man, goth girls are sexy! I don't buy into goth philosophy but who cares about philosophy when you have girls like this to oogle!?

Nongnong, nong, nong, nong (knuckle biting)! OK, she's not naked but I can imagine it!

I'm going way out on a limb with this one (above). She has a sense of humor and that's sexy, don't you think?

Here's (above) a neo-hippy girl from the "Hippie Godess" website. She looks kind of surly for a hippie but maybe I'm misreading the expression. The hippies were half right...underarm hair really is sexy, but not leg hair. Click to enlarge.

Here's (above) a disgustingly wholesome girl from the "Domai" site that Kelly recommended a while back. Behind the sincerity there's something phony, but behind the phony there's more sincerity so I'm buying into this one! Click to enlarge.

Nonganonganonganonga! In a better world the mail would be delivered by carriers like this (above).

Here's (above) a nice one to go out on. What's the real color of her hair, anyway? I'm betting brown.

Edward, I would have to agree with you on all counts--with the sole exception of the underarm hair thing.

You LIKE Suicide Girls? YUCCCK!!!

...But I do like the Domai...

Gee whiz Eddie. You ARE like someone's uncle.

I agree with you whole heartedly on the Suicide Girls. Most of those photo series are at least attempts at playful turn-ons. Seldom do they reduce themselves to just being excuses to do teh knuckle shuffle.

Few things distress as often as a woman that's too symmetrical and made-up. Worse yet when they are patched up by some plastic surgeon or cosmetic guru.

I think we may part ways on the caterpillars under the arms, but this isn't about my taste in pin-upsies, so I can't fault you for a little honesty. You probably need to keep your nose warm in the winter like anyone. yuk yuk. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure I share your enthusiasm for the goth gals, Eddie, but I do love those sweet, innocently sexy lasses on Domai. You should also check out the pics on a related site called Zonja.com.

I collect old Playboy issues from the 60s-70s, as I appreciate the natural quality of the girls from that era. Today, most of the Playboy models seem heavily enhanced, both in their physical being and also by all of the Photoshop airbrushing that they do to the photos. As a result, I really don't feel I'm looking at an attractive nude girl anymore, as everything looks like it's made out of plastic!

Incidentally, I've been posting some caricatured life drawings of one of my favourite models on my blogsite, in case you're interested. There's some more traditional drawing on there as well, but it's the caricatured approach that makes me feel like I'm a pin-up artist! There will be more posted on an ongoing basis.

"Here's (above) my all-time favorite nude photograph, taken by Weston." Mine too! The model, I think, was Charis Wilson (later Charis Weston). He did other to-die-for pictures of her at about the same time (1936-7). The most deservedly-famous nakeds ever.

Pete: I wholeheartedly agree. Here's a website that collects photos from all playmates over the years. I doubt it's completely legal, but I like it a lot: http://playmail.sprawl.it/

The difference between the 60s/70s and the 00s is staggering. I wonder who buys playboy anymore. They must now REALLY buy them for the articles.

Don't forget glamour photographer " Peter Gowland". His book " Guide to glamor photography from "72" has been in my refrerence library for years. Cute and well posed happy girls from the 60's and early 70's.

Women should have the freedom to be as naturally hairy as they want to be. The men this chases away will be replaced by better men like Lewis & Clark.

I don't think that because a girl is featured on Suicide Girls it means that they have some "goth philosophy"-- it just means they're not a traditional/mainsteam pinup type(meaning Playboy/Maxim/Esquire/TV star implants, blonde, barbieized, tantastic etc).
They might have extreme dyed hair, be pierced, often have tats. A "goth" is something else--into black clothes, victoriana-morbid style stuff. As it is, it's much more a style of looking than some creed. FWIW.

I don't know, there's nothin' sexier than goth gals to me. I have a thing for deathly pale with short black hair. I like the color contrast.

Eddie, I am so glad you have enjoyed my recommendation of Domai.com :) I have it set as my homepage, so every morning I am greeted by a different lovely figure and face. I do agree they c an be a bit TOO chipper, it would be nice to see a few more pouts and pinup-style posing. Maybe I should check out suicidegirls?

okay I hesitate to post this but I think you could appreciate it in a dignified (HA VERY HA) manner. abbywinters.com is a site for filmed erotica, aka PR0NOGRAPHY. But it's probably the best I have ever seen, considering the souless drek that passes for sex on the rest of the internet. They are based in Australia, so there are a ton of incredibly cute, athletic, fun girls with an aussie burr. and the girls are filmed in their own homes, with their own "accessories", and in many cases accompanied by their own friends. It's very genuine, and quite fun to watch :0

Hope you don't mind more naked pimpage in your comments Eddie ol' thing.

PS I prefer to go au natural in the underarm area, and get away with it for as long as possible until SOCIETAL DEMANDS force me into shaving >:( Let people stare! I love my pit hair! *postures ala Rosie*

Her hair is red Eddie, check the eyebrows, they seldom lie!

Kelly: Me? Mind? ....Moi? Why, no, of course not! Of course I have my mind on great, philosophical issues most of the time, but occassionally I think about Earthly matters like this. Thanks for the tip!

ahhh, yes. always up for naked theory.

Years ago in Art school I was in love with a punk girl (like a goth girl with talent)and I broke up with her because I made the mistake of thinking I should be with a nice normal girl (it took me years to realise there is no such thing, none worth having anyway) Some goth girls are very cute, especially the ones with funny glasses.

Regarding armpit hair on women: like all forms of hair styling (that includes everything seen and unseen)it varies from woman to woman. There is no one perfect look for a woman, which is why fashions change so frequently.

I just have to say pit hair makes me sick, on girls OR guys. It's not about society, I just think pit hair is gross.

Pete: Wow! Nice figure drawings, and nice site too!

Playboy does miss the mark these days. The internet gave everybody a taste for informal, intimate graphics and Playboy's still doing slick.

Micah, Steve, Shawn: You guys don't like pit hair, huh? Gee, I was gonna have the all-girl Theory Mansion staff go to your house and show you what they've done with it. Well, you're not interested so I'll call it off.

Lester: Thanks for the Weston photos! Boy, he was genius! I like the picture of the knees that you put up and the one of the girl lying on her side on the sand on a downshot. Did you see how he manipulated the width of the arms in the picture I put up?

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

Ken: I googled Gowland (unintended poetry) and he looks interesting. He likes cheery girls and so do I.

Jordan: I was about to lecture you on the need to accept natural things like pit hair when I suddenly realized the same argument could be used against me for disliking leg hair.

Kelly: *"Eddie ol' thing?"* (Gulp!) "Ol'...thing?" (Gulp!) It's amazing how girls can reduce men to a palpitating puddle with just a few words. I think I'll do a post about that.

Kelly Toon said...

gosh, is that a good puddle or a bad one? It's just an affectionate term I picked up from a british friend of the family. He was the first physically disabled person to summit Mount Everest (He had a prosthetic leg below the knee, and he reached the top on his third try). He also called me Old Bean, would you prefer that? Or is it the Old part that bothers ya :p?

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

Kelly: LOL! No, no...it's a good puddle! Men like being reduced to quivering puddles.

You're friends with the first disabled man to climb Mount Everest!? Wow! You must have some interesting dinner parties!

Kelly Toon said...

We sure did have interesting dinner parties before we moved to Kentucky from Arizona!!

We went camping with the Whittaker family many times. I remember once getting out of my sleeping bag in the early morning, at the bottom of a long-dry riverbed (there are lots of those out west!). As I was rubbing the goop out of my eyes he say "Hey ol' Top" and I looked up just in time to see a raw egg flying at my face. Fortunately I have excellent reflexes and avoided disaster.

Later we watched this one-legged man scamper lizardlike up a sheer 6o ft cliff face. He put in hooks and the next guy up strung ropes and then my poor dad made an attempt to join them at the top but made it about fifteen feet, haha.

Micah Baker said...

Funny how the pit hair struck a couple of nerves. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is disgusting. It is a lot of trouble to tend to I'd wager. I know my friend yammers on about how much of a pain leg shaving is. Gosh I can barely imagine the ordeal associated with sheering yon pubic regions.

Oh, Kelly. I've been to the site you recommended. Those saucy Aussies do have a wonderful way about them. Eddie, you will get a kick out of them.

Say, Eddie? There's an all-girl Theory Mansion staff? Then I'm obligated to point out that I said we MIGHT part ways. There's only one way to be sure. I'm hoping for some topiary pits!

On the CG Society website someone posted some photo ref drawings made from images they found on a website called kindgirls.com. Large archive to browse through.

Edward Weston was a great photographer, not just of nudes. I enjoyed reading what Ansel Adams had to say about him in his autobiography. Heck, I really enjoyed Ansel Adams autobio period, the Weston parts were just an extra bonus. Nudes like the Weston piece are some of my favorite types. I'm a man who likes a bit of mystery.

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

Micah: I thought you'd change your mind!

Pete, Dre: Thanks, I'll check those out.

BTW, DRE, What did Adams say about Weston?

Anonymous said...

He mostly gave stories of time he spent with Edward and family. One paragraph did stand out especially with me.
"I was always a bit astonished (and perhaps a little envious) at Edward's achievements with the female of the species... Edward equated gentle license with creativity; he could not imagine art without sex. Others I have known who exhibited intense activity "with the skirts" (as Francis Holman would say) left trails of wrath, disillusionment, and remorse, usually with psychopathic overtones. Not Edward. He blithely moved from one affair to another, leaving behind compassionate Minervas rather than furious harpies."

Besides this, there is much about his time spent with Adams, trips they took, Edward's feeling that his photography was what is was, and needed no explanation from him. Adams autobio is a treasure trove of accounts of his travels, views on art, photography as art, and of the people in his life that were somebody in the art world, for instance, Alfred Stieglitz and his wife Georgia O'Keeffe.

DRE: Fascinating! You've sold me! I have to read that book!

It would be interesting to see you do an analysis of "types of men"...and why women might be attracted to them..you could have representations of the jock, the metrosexual, the geek, the 40's style guys, the nerds, businessmen..the many moods of men. Oh, and animation geek guys too. Do a poll to see which women prefer.
