I'm still obsessed with pencil twirling! I tried it for half an hour before writing this and I can already see the improvement! Learn it yourself and we can have duels at the drawing table!
Whit, thanks for putting me on to this! I knew about cigarette twirling but it never occurred to me to do it with a pencil til you mentioned it!
I got into this for a while when I had an office job. Much better than doing rote chores (in terms of building self-esteem, at least). It seemed to require a lot of coffee for me to complete even the most basic spins.
Pencil twirling is practically a national pasttime here in Japan. My students twirl pencils in so many ways, no matter their ages. Junior high kids twirl 'em, this one lawyer I teach twirls her pencil...

Ooohhh.... pencil twirling duels! I can't wait!
And what's with the warning on the second video to "practice with unsharpened pencils?"
I salute you for your good work exposing young people to pencils.

You can still make a good living with pencil tricks.

Eddie, your blog is amazing. Thanks.
This really makes me want to become a pencil-twirler. So little time, so much to do!
It's amazing that a simple video can have you trying out a complex trick. Well, complex for me anyways.

And I can't do it to save my life!
