"THE LATE-NIGHT INTRUDER"
Wow! Here's the video I did with Jim Arnold, the amazing guy who did the YouTube video I posted about called "Robber's Apprentice." We never actually met, this whole video was done via emails and shared Quicktime footage. What an age we live in!
Next time I'll put up some of Jim's raw footage. You won't believe how skilled this guy is!
BTW, the video might look compressed on some computers. I don't know why that happened, but if you click on it the right way it should take you to YouTube where you can see it in a normal format. If you hear two soundtracks at once just ...well, just fiddle with it. it'll turn out OK.

Two questions:
1) How come everything you film comes up as a reverse image ( the biscuit box was a giveaway )?
2) Could you post that drawing the dog drew?

Boo: Thanks! About things being backwards, the isight camera on my computer shoots everything that way. Somewhere on the toolbar there's probably something that allows you to correct that, but I didn't bother to investigate because backwards struck me as funny. Maybe I should do something about it. .
I threw the drawing away. It wasn't very good.
Yay! Man, that was excellent - the Raymond Scott music was synced up beautifully, great comedy, excellent acting.
That pixilated fall downstairs is genius. Now we know how Duke Wayne did all those fight scenes. Eddie, you could make a feature length You Tube picture with collaborators like this. Raymond Scott is immortal.

If you click on edit,then look at the bottom of the drop down menu is flip photo I think you change it there.
I'm glad I waited till I got home to watch. It made my day.

Just brilliant! Short vaudeville acts like this could have new life on the internet! Short format is perfect for a platform which only holds the viewers attention for as long as they can keep from clicking on a flashing ad or something.

This is brilliant! I'd missed the earlier post with some of Jim's other films. That'll teach me not to skip theory school.

I noticed the reverse image with the Apple laptop camera too. I guess they felt that people were more accustomed to looking in a mirror. If it didn't reverse you would get that disorienting feeling you get when moving and watching yourself in a store security monitor.
Ace work though. The editing was great. The sped up action keeps the energy high. The little soundeffects. Nice shot composition too! I especially liked the sword, guitar hero controller, and tiny American flag held by the dog.
Brilliant, Eddie! The web collaboration is a fascinating concept, too.
You should make it a policy of posting labels backwards 'til you get some proper product-placement money.
Plenty of long form stuff is currently on You Tube, albeit segmented. Someone should put up the ten-hour, German "Our Hitler", for pure levity.

I respectfully disagree. The Thief and the Cobbler (re-cobbled version) did very well on YouTube, though it was broken down into about twenty segments, until it was taken down. If the quality is good enough, and perhaps if the feature is delivered in a serialized form (a new segment every week or every two to four days), a feature quality release can do well on YouTube. The challenge is how to stage the action, keeping in mind the size of screen the main audience is watching (think about size of an iPhone or little larger, 17"-22"screen or larger for PC/Mac viewers).
Neat...That was alot of fun! Clever editing and I STILL love that goofy music in the background! reminds me of the old Hal Roach Our Gang stuff!

Pat: Jim chose the music and did a great job editing it. He also did the titles except for a quick copyright card on the end. How do you like the way he layered in the dog SFX at the end, after the robber fell down the stairs? The final dog howl was an inspiration!

I love Raymond Scott's music, but I can never tell what stuff is in the public domain and what stuff is owned by Warner Bros.

Oh, man! That was delightful. Way to go on the logistics of putting it together. I missed out on the Scott music and sound in general (damn technology that needs more than a button click to fix), but the b&w shooting made it easy to accept. Great sight gag with the flag, I'm rolling between my chair and the floor!
i enjoyed that! it was very funny and great acting. my friend and I want to make little video clips like that and put them on youtube. you ever thought of making a movie??
