HANSEL AND GRETEL

Yikes! I thought I'd Photoshop myself into some Wally Wood artwork, but the result was so unfunny that I think I'll end this experiment here, after doing only one panel. Stupid me for thinking I could compete with Wood. I'll put up the rest of this in a few days.

BTW....Don't you hate trying to draw with a mouse!???

I still find it funny if that makes you feel better. Sometimes failure can accidentally lead to a successful, new idea.

Wood gets plenty press about his stiffness but I sure think his "cute" work avoid that negativity. Maybe because his elfin characters' limbs were too short to appear stiff.

Drawing with a mouse?! If you must draw directly on computer, I'd invest in some sort of Wacom tablets.

Drawing with a mouse is intolerable. I'm surprised an artists like yourself doesn't have a tablet?
They're expensive, no doubt, but investment items like Computers are often a few hundred dollars but the long term use is invaluable.
I got a tablet as a part of my animation school supplies and haven't parted with it since.
I bet you'd fall in love with one if you ever got one. You could draw hair on your Hansel and Gretel characters with ease and even draw cartoons on the computer.
It's just like using a pen but with all the conveniences of being on a computer, such as being able to save and undo mistakes instantly. The possibilities thrill the imagination!

I wonder when my check from the Tablet manufactures will be coming?

Oh Uncle Eddie, even your bad stuff is still funny!

Dear ole Uncle Eddie... even the inexpensive Bamboo line from Wacom will open your eyes to the joys, yes joys of drawing within the computer environment. I just got an email notification from a friend here in town selling his Intuos 4. They're out there and available. Buy one just to see what the hype is about. Sell it on eBay if you don't like it. You won't be sorry.

You seriously don't have a tablet Eddie? (not the old fashioned kind either)

Brubaker, Joshua, Z, Kyle: Thanks for the good advice. I have a 12" Wacom Tablet that I stopped using because I didn't like the way it worked with an earlier version of Sketchbook Pro. I should try it with some other drawing program, or maybe just Photoshop.

Roberto, Healing, Jennifer: Haw! Thanks!

It isn't easy, trying to copy Wally Wood using only your face! I love the way you go from dainty innocent to craggy huntsman on the same page.

There's a new Wacom-type display on the market & the early reviews are good. At $500, they're flying off the shelves, though.
