Hahaha! Mike Fontanelli seems like my kind of guy.

Also, I like how that woman has a sort of a deer's leg

AMAZING!!!! I bet that didn't happen...but great story nonetheless! I especially love the part when your face gets smashed!

Do one of me too! I want in!

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

Kali: It not only happened but it happened frequently and still happens.

Max: LOL! Deer's leg!? I should have redrawn it!

This is the Citizen Kane of doodles.

Full of twists, expressive acting and comedic timing, you should be directing, Eddie!

The woman is SO Don Martin.

(Gulp!)
Unfortunately, It's all too hideously true.

Except, that girl - she looks like YOU in drag, Eddie!

(Hmmm... Freudian, eh what?)

I laughed so hard I wept. Holy Moly, best entry ever, man.

Eddie, are you a fan of Keith Knight? His comics are somewhat similar to your's.

See his work at www.kchronicles.com

...so the chicks "dig" subtlety?

Just askin' is all.

I have experienced that at the Coral many nights, but you left out the cheeky comments about the palette cleansers (loud enough so they can hear!)

See ya
Steve

Mike F: Post a blog entry, even a blank one, so we can at least ask you questions directly.

Subtlety is for people who secretly want to die alone.

Eddie, is that smiling object lying next to your face in frame #2 a Beanie Baby Sea Bass? I know you like to have a beloved little furry friend along on these outings in case you start to feel alienated. I'm the same way, so I always bring along my favorite knife.

I suspect the smiling object is your conscience, and a conscience needs a hat. Give him a hat. A Jughead hat would be perfect. Lacking felt and pinking shears, you could give him a straw boater.

But anyway, who is he? He looks so happy.

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

Spizz: A beanie baby sea bass!!!????? That was his sandwich! It's funny that you mentioned that because that shot of the sandwich was my favorite of all the sandwich shots.

Steve: Ah, yes...palette cleansers. There's another blog in that.

Ha! I love it!

So when Mike ogles a girl, he develops a third hand? That could be very useful in combination with baggy pants...

Subtlety is for people who secretly want to die alone.

That's pithy enough for Oscar Wilde.

Eddie: These drawings are so funny that it compels me to ask: What precisely is your contribution to the shows you work on? None of the "cartoons" I can think of have any interest in this sort of funny business, except of course the ones J.K. is associated with. Do they look at your ideas and go, "Haha! great stuff, Eddie! Too bad we can't use it..."?

even if you hate family guy you have to admit seth macfarlane is an awesome voice actor

Kali Fontecchio said...

The Coral is the scariest place on the face of the Earth Steve.

Why would we hve to admit something that wasn't true?

Anonymous said...

I'm glad to hear other men are not subtle either. What is the worse thing that could probably happen?

ive never seen john attack futurama in his blog, do you know his opinion on it eddie?

Eddie Fitzgerald said...

I don't: Aaargh! That's a depressing subject! Yes I definitely have that problem but fortunately I have enough experience staging corporate gang cartoons to keep food on the table.

Mike has excellent taste in women! And sandwiches.

Shawn Dickinson said...

I wish there were TWO Eddie Fitzgeralds...one to work on cartoons...and one to draw comic books! That would be great!

Ken Mitchroney said...

Jeez Eddie. It's like noting has changed in almost 20 years. I thought Mike lost all that weight eating subway and has become there spokesman.

So Eddie, would you say it's worse to be a cartoonist who's forced to stage corporate gang cartoons to keep food on the table, or a scientist who'd rather be a cartoonist (such as myself)? Both have the same desire and are getting paid to do something that basically sucks; do you see any differences?

Not to get too philosophical, just looking for some inspiration, I guess.

Hilarious drawings, by the way. I have the same problem as Mike. It doesn't accomplish much.
